about

Octavcat’s first release for Blacknight Records, ‘The Siamese Ep’, sees them in blistering form. From the haunting ‘Aquavit’ to ‘Tinsect’s’ brooding cinematic soundscapes and ‘Hello Maren’s’ melodramatic persona, to the rhythmically hypnotic ‘Clay’, you glide effortlessly through the Ep; a truly enchanting listen.

Reviewed by Rough Trade: Excellent 4 track ep on the Blacknight Records label from this new 3 piece outfit. Quality detroit / warp-y electronica with a jazzy edge to the drums that gives it more warmth and a Black Dog / Plaid feel. Well worth checking out.

Reviewed by Smallfish: Superb 4 track 12” of deep spacey electronics (which remind me of some of the early Black Dog/Plaid work) laid over some excellently processed breaks. Crunchy and glitchy in places, ambient and full of space in others. For me, this is one of the best electronic things in the past couple of weeks. Have a listen.........

Reviewed by Sister Ray: AWESOME!!
